Every gathering is a valuable asset.. a priceless treasure...... A gathering of expatriates..... With such a gathering, Koorachundu - Kuwait Community

 

Koorachundu - Kuwait Community organized Onam celebrations.

Many people from Koorachuundu from various places in Kuwait participated in the program as family and not. 

In the years before the Covid era, gatherings were actively organized once a year. Later, the gatherings were extended for various reasons.

 

Welcome Ali Puthussery welcomed Ismail Pulikkottumeethal presided, Bibin Arakkal was the program controller, and Harris Puthuparambil gave the vote of thanks. Aziz, Prajeesh, Rafiq, Don Kumbukkal, Babi Mailadoor, Mubarak, Shafi, Hashim, Tins..... and others greeted 

The warmth of the communities in the diaspora is something else.  It is among expatriates that one can truly experience the depth of friendship more than at home. Groups, various organizations, and gatherings with family friends can all be mentioned. When one leaves one's close friends and family and is transplanted to exile, the value of groups becomes meaningful. When one has to live the lion's share of one's life in exile, one gets to know a lot of people. One can create friendships with only a few of them. Of these, one can maintain lifelong friendships with only a very few.

Groups are essential in exile. When one leaves home, family, and country and struggles for a living, it is groups that make the automatic life full of joy and excitement. When illness and danger approach, relationships can be formed through groups in exile to comfort and extend a helping hand. Sometimes, friendships in exile become deeper and stronger than relationships in the homeland.  Most of the expatriates live their lives automatically in a mechanized world. 

Friendships are like flowers that spread fragrance. Even if they fall, their fragrance will still be there. May sweet friendships continue to maintain their unique fragrance without diminishing. 'In this world where there is nothing to take, let's give and go, love and friendship'

The festive programs lasted until the night. The programs were complemented by art and sports feasts led by children and adults, and a delicious Onam meal was prepared. A sumptuous meal with aviyal, sambar, rasa, and two groups of payasam. After the Onam meal, various art programs and Onam games were staged. Special Onam games were prepared for everyone from small children to adults. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the folk songs and various types of art programs.

Everyone, regardless of age, danced to the sound of Onam flowers in the Kottikalasat.  This gathering, which evoked a sense of homesickness, provided an opportunity to forge new friendships and spread the message of unity. Many people's eyes filled as they said goodbye, dancing, singing, sharing friendships, shaking hands, and hugging. The Malayalis parted ways with memories sweeter than the jaggery soup served for dinner, and with the hope of being reunited soon.
