Bar did not provide 'touchings'; employee was stabbed to death while waiting outside

Thrissur: A youth who had come to drink at the Mayfair Bar at the National Highway Signal Junction stabbed the employee in frustration over not being given any touchings when he asked for them.
Hemachandran (64) was killed by a buffalo in Muringatheri Sandra Nivas. The accused, Sijo John (40), a Swadeshi from Alagappanagar, was arrested by the police within hours. The incident took place at 11.40 pm on Sunday.
Police say:
On Sunday, at 1.30 pm, the accused Sijo John came to the bar to drink. He repeatedly asked for touchings, leading to an argument with the bar staff. C Jo John had bought pickles and chicken parts in 8 installments.
The employees refused when he asked for the 9th time. Although the murdered Hemachandran was at the bar counter, he did not intervene in the dispute.
Although he went back after the incident, Sijo came to the bar area at night with the intention of killing any employee. He waited for any of the employees to come out. After closing the bar at 11 pm, Hemachandran went to the stall outside and had tea before returning to the bar.
While closing the gate, Sijo, who was waiting nearby, asked Hemachandran if he was the one who worked at the bar. When he said yes, he stabbed him in the neck with a knife and ran away.
The seriously injured Hemachandran
was admitted to the Puthukkad Taluk Hospital and later to a private hospital in Thrissur, but he died.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police checked the CCTV footage and identified the accused. The accused, who was caught from his house in the morning, was produced in court and remanded.
Sijo, who was working as a security guard in various places in Ernakulam, had not gone to work for some time.
Hemachandran, a native of Ranni, Pathanamthitta, left home last Monday.
